Planned server migration ssdrs2.layerip.com – 17th July, 2024

This planned maintenance affects all websites and email accounts which are hosted on the ssdrs2.layerip.com server. No other servers will be affected by this migration. Your account will be migrated to the new hosting01.layerip.com server. Accounts will be migrated in sequence, thus, only accounts actively being migrated will be affected at any given moment. Service will be restored immediately upon successful migration. Once accounts have been migrated, any traffic arriving at the old server due to third party DNS caching will be automatically forwarded to the new server in order to minimise disruption. This will remain in place for 7 days following the migration in order to give you time to ensure that all DNS records have been updated.

When will this happen:

The maintenance window will start at 21:00 UK time (BST) on Wednesday, 17th July, and will run for 10 hours.

Expected service impact:

During the maintenance window your websites and email will be temporarily unavailable whilst we migrate your service. Service interruption time depends on the size of your data, but should not exceed one hour.

Action required:

Customers using the Jolt name servers (ns100.layerip.com and ns101.layerip.com) will have their DNS records updated automatically. Customers using third party name servers will need to manually update their DNS records to replace 37.61.235.45 with 194.110.243.34 once the migration has started.
We will contact clients with dedicated IP addresses separately in order to confirm the new details.

Fallback procedure:

In case of any issues, we will abort the migration and revert back to the current ssdrs2.layerip.com server.
